Jinhua Chemical (Group) Co., Ltd. is a state-owned ultra-large enterprise in China, ranking among the top 500 enterprises in the country and being one of the 18 large-scale chemical production bases nationwide. Besides, the company also operates in cement, water purifiers, corrugated pipe materials, and PVC windows and doors. It possesses strong capabilities in scientific research and development, mechanical processing, product storage and transportation, construction and installation, as well as road and rail transportation.

The company has comprehensive public utility facilities with a daily water supply capacity of 110,000 tons and a steam production capacity of 610 tons per hour. It also has three power generation units with a total installed capacity of 50MW, generating 200 million KWh of electricity annually. A wastewater treatment plant with a capacity of 1,500 tons per hour ensures that all treated wastewater meets the required standards before discharge. Jinhua Chemical also has a 23-kilometer railway siding and a five-track marshalling yard. Its marketing network covers the whole country, with sales offices and agencies in major cities and regions. During the "Seventh Five-Year" period, Jinhua Chemical introduced a 20,000-ton-per-year propylene oxide series product. After digestion, absorption, and improvement, the actual output of propylene oxide exceeded the designed capacity by more than one time. The actual output in 2000 was 40,238 tons, and it was expected to exceed 45,000 tons in 2001, making a significant contribution to China's polyurethane industry.

In the "Ninth Five-Year" period, Jinhua Chemical focused on adjusting the product structure and carried out technological transformation. By the end of 2000, the company's main products had achieved economic scale. The production capacity of propylene oxide reached 130,000 tons, ranking first in the Far East; the ionomer method caustic soda production capacity reached 290,000 tons, ranking first in the country; and the PVC production capacity reached 130,000 tons, ranking seventh among domestic enterprises. The company also passed the ISO9002-94 quality certification at the end of 1998.
